Sustainable Chemistry

Research unit of Sustainable Chemistry is an active and versatile research unit in the Faculty of Technology. It was created with a mission to study chemistry challenges in a sustainable way, and to respond efficiently to pressing societal challenges by providing sustainable solutions. Unit works in the field of sustainable material chemistry and its main research areas are catalytic materials, sustainable bio-economy, materials for energy storage, water treatment and trace element analysis.

Research

The research conducted in the Sustainable Chemistry Research Unit is applied by nature. It is carried out in close collaboration with research organizations and industry. The research has been divided in three focus areas:

The integral part of the research carried out in the Unit is inorganic trace element analysis. The methods developed in the research work of trace element analysis are widely utilized in the Unit's research and in industrial cooperation. The Unit has up-to-date analysis equipment for research work.
