Here the northern water-lily (Nympaea candida) is flowering in a pond near Kitka-river (Kuusamo). Mires with the eutrophic and
oligotrophic plant species are round the pond. When the peatlayer is growing, oligotrophic species are appearing (e.g. heath, Calluna vulgaris)
to the mire, but some plant species reach still to eutrophic water (e.g. common reed, Phragmites australis).
Step by step the eutrophic species however will disappear...
