Jukka-Pekka Ranta

Dr. Jukka-Pekka Ranta received his BSc in 2011, MSc in 2012 (geology and mineralogy) and PhD in 2018 (geology and mineralogy) from the University of Oulu. Currently working as a post-doctoral researcher, Dr. Ranta´s research interested range from studying hydrothermal ore-forming processes in hydrothermal systems to advancing the development of low-impact exploration methods by integrating geological and geophysical information in various types of ore deposits. In addition to the research, Dr. Ranta has a strong ambition to develop geoscientific and mining related education in BSc and MSc level studies. He also acts as a degree programme leader in both degree programmes at Oulu Mining School.
