Environmental social sciences
I am an environmental social scientist with a focus on human-resource relationships in the Arctic and Siberia. My current postdoctoral research examines the impacts of wind energy and hydropower development on more-than-human landscapes in northern Finland. This project's field research has been supported by the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
Prior to joining the University of Oulu in 2023, I held positions as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Indigenous Sustainabilities at the Helsinki Institute of Sustainability Science (HELSUS) and as an Assistant Professor at the University of Tyumen in Siberia. I hold a PhD in Environmental Sciences and Policy from Central European University in Budapest/Vienna.
Since 2021, I have served as the Secretary of the Social and Human Working Group at the International Arctic Science Committee (IASC).
