Legal deposit material

Oulu University Library is one of the six legal deposit libraries in Finland. The library's extensive and comprehensive collections of Finnish publications help to facilitate the multi-disciplinary research conducted in Northern Finland.

Special collections

Special collections include preserved book materials, individual printed publications, photographs, maps, manuscripts, documents, and newspaper clippings. These materials are mainly included in the online library catalogue Oula-Finna.

Microfilms

The microfilms in the library collections are mainly newspaper volumes and these can be found in Oula-Finna online catalogue.

Information Resources Policy

Oulu University Library produces library services for the University of Oulu and Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Oamk). Acquisition of new material is based on the acquisition suggestions made by the staff and students of our scientific community.
