Education description

During the course, a doctoral student will familiarise himself/herself with different types and levels of journals and analyse some journals by different publishers within his/her research field. The student will identify factors that may indicate the levels of preferred journals and the probability of getting his/her work published in those journals. The student will also assess the turnaround times by different journals, i.e. the time from submission to acceptance. The student aims to identify his/her field and the journals where the research in his/her field is typically published. The student will identify, and justify, suitable journals for his/her research in different level publication outlets. The student will define 4-6 target journals for his/her forthcoming articles. In addition, the student can identify alternative target journals at different levels. The student must recognise the differences between journals and justify the selections.

Implemented as a self-study / student-conducted investigation.
