Nature Masterclasses provides professional development training for researchers by drawing on the expertise of journal editors and experts from Nature Research Journals.

As a member of University of Oulu this subscription grants you access to all available online courses on the Nature Masterclasses On-demand platform. Access to the courses will be valid until July 30, 2025.

Nature Masterclasses hold a launch event for the University of Oulu on 18th September 2024. University of Oulu's members can view the webinar here.

How can I get access to the courses?

University of Oulu’s access to Nature Masterclasses is provided via Single Sign-On. Please note it is important that you register via University of Oulu's institutional single sign-on (SSO) rather than registering independently with your institutional email.

Follow the steps below to register with Nature Masterclasses.

Visit https://masterclasses.nature.com/register
Go to the ‘Your institution’ field and select University of Oulu from the drop-down menu
Complete your profile
Confirm your registration

Doctoral researchers can earn credits by completing the courses.

The credits are registered to Peppi as personal study units (Field-specific studies).

Set the course name as "Nature Masterclasses On-demand online courses".
Add the names of the courses you have completed in the description field. Note that the information must be added both in English and in Finnish (you can add information in English in both language boxes).
Count the number of credits based on the estimated completion times of the courses. The minimum number of credits that can be registered is 0,5 ECTS credits. 1 credit corresponds to 27 hours work!
