Career Days at the University of Oulu

Career days 8.-9.11. at the University of Oulu!



Career Days is a two-day event organised at the University of Oulu. It provides students with information on possible future career paths and employers, as well as other actors and services in working life. The two days include panel discussions, workshops and a fair. Panel discussions and workshops are held at Tellus Linnanmaa on the Linnanmaa campus. The panel discussions will be streamed to Zoom, a link to join will be posted closer to the time on the event's Facebook page.



The event will be held on both days from 10:00 to 15:00 at the Green Coat Racks on the Linnanmaa campus. At the Career Days, you can get to know, for example, employers and organisations at their own stands. In addition, the partners of the event offer free workshops for students - please check them out in the schedule, as registration closes soon!

Goal of the event is to create as comprehensive a picture of working life as possible for students. The event focuses somewhat on the humanities, as the event is organized by the Guild of Humanities.

Monday 7th Nov.:

14.00 - 16.00 Career Centre Workshop 1 - Competence, CV and job application.

Place: Oamk, Foodoo Carden - Tinjami

Tuesday 8th Nov:

10.00 - 11.00 Joakim Tervonen: Recent graduates at work - from where, how and where?

Place: Tellus Linnanmaa - Stage



12.00 - 13.30 Alumni panel: the topic is interdisciplinarity. In the panel discussion, the alumni discuss the importance of interdisciplinarity during their studies and working life.



14.00 - 16.00 Career Centre Workshop 2 - Job interview and elevator pitch.

Place: Tellus Linnanmaa - Frost Club



16.30 - 18.30 Communications racers and veterans - are you interested in communication or journalism as a profession?

Place: Tellus Linnanmaa - Stage

Wednesday 9th Nov:

10.00 - 11.30 Alumni panel: on the topic of interdisciplinarity. In the panel discussion, the alumni discuss the importance of interdisciplinarity during their studies and working life.



12.00 - 13.30 Research panel: university researchers highlight the importance of interdisciplinarity in the formation of humanists' career paths, starting from their student days.



14.00 - 16.00 Career Centre Workshop 3 - Networking, branding and LinkedIn
