Fab Academy Information Event 2025 (II)

Fab Academy is an intensive five-month program that teaches how to prototype and fabricate your own research equipment, hobbyist gadgets, educational tools, and anything you can imagine. During the information event we will present the program and answer questions from audience. In addition, students from previous years will present their experience.

Fab Academy offers a distributed educational model in which students learn in local Fab Labs, supported by experienced mentors, but also connected globally with other Fab Lab by content sharing and video for interactive classes, forming a network of 250 students in more than 80 Fab Labs.

The course is directed by Neil Gershenfeld from MIT’s Center For Bits and Atoms and based on MIT’s rapid prototyping course: How to Make (Almost) Anything. Fab Lab Oulu staff consists on five Fab Academy experience instructors, all of them with several years of experience teaching Fab Academy.

After the event organized during first of November, we got interest from people who could not join in knowing more about the program.
