Participants of the torchlight procession will gather at 5 PM at the Toripolliisi statue. The procession will depart from the Market Square at 5:30 PM, traveling via Rotuaari to Intiö cemetery.

The procession route runs from the Market Square along Kauppurienkatu to Kirkkokatu. This year, the procession will return to its original performance location at the steps of the newly renovated city hall, where the University of Oulu’s mixed choir Cassiopeia will perform at approximately 5:40 PM when the procession arrives. After the performance, the torchlight procession will continue through Snellman Park, along Hallituskatu to Rautatienkatu. From Rautatienkatu, the route turns to Kajaanintie and proceeds to the cemetery gates.

At the cemetery, Anton Kostiainen, the Chair of the OYY Board, will deliver a commemorative speech and the student union will lay a wreath at the memorial for fallen heroes. The event will conclude with the communal singing of “Maa on niin kaunis”.
