Introduction to the topic by MSc Henri Suomalainen (Specialist at TalTech Department of Geology, Division of Mineral Resources and Applied Geology).
Topics: Global challenges driving mineral demand, the role of minerals in everything from construction to food production, mining methods and their environmental/social impacts, the role of circular economy and recycling, and the need of raw materials for green transition.

Topics: Value chain, supply chain, Critical Raw Materials Act, Rare Earth Elements, Battery Raw Materials,
and Social Licences. - Interactive E-Learning Workshop: Explore the fascinating world of metals and minerals by pairing them with everyday objects like the fork. Participants will engage in hands-on activities, learning to identify minerals, understand their properties, and discover how they’re used in everyday life. This interactive session aims to enhance participants’ knowledge of the role that metals and minerals play in our everyday lives.

The workshop will be held in English and the training will be provided by the Geological Institute of Tallinn University of Technology.The event is free of charge.
