Tips for Finding a Traineeship Abroad
Below you can find a list of websites where you can look for traineeships abroad. Note, that the University of Oulu is not responsible for the updates or the information provided in the websites. You can also get tips and hints for a traineeship abroad from other students or you can ask for advice from the staff in your faculty. - JobTeaser in here you can find all the job, traineeship and thesis opportunities that have been sent to the University of Oulu. Here you can also find the Embassy Work Placements in Finnish Embassies (requires knowledge of Finnish language).
- LeoNet is a large portal of European traineeship placements.
- Erasmusintern.org is a website for traineeship placements in European countries.
- AIESEC offers traineeships and volunteer work abroad in different study fields in more thatn 110 countries. In these traineeships you receive valuable experience by working in international teams.
- Allianssi youth exchanges allows you to go abroad as a volunteer or for a traineeship. The placements last from a couple of weeks up to a year and it is possible to go on a short notice. In their programmes you can also find EU-funded exchanges.
- Baltic Science Network Mobility Programme for Research Internships (BARI) offers research traineeships in the countries of the Baltic region.
- EDUFI –traineeship is a traineeship program by the Finnish national agency for education for students in higher education or that have just graduated. The application rounds are organized twice a year and the traineeships usually require Finnish language skills.
- ErasmusJobs connects employees with employers. You can create your own profile in the webpage and promote yourself and your know-how.
- Erasmus Student Network (ESN) offers traineeships in companies and organizations within the EU.
- EU Careers website lists traineeship offers in EU institutions, bodies and agencies. The traineeships are an excellent chance to get to know the work and processes of the EU from within. The tasks can be related to various special fields, such as human resources, communication, information and communication technologies, competition law, environmental policy, external relations, development policy and many more!
- European Patent Office offers traineeships for students of engineering fields, business, communication and human resources.
- ImpactPool lists traineeship and job offers in more than 180 international organisations (including all UN organisations)

- Maailmanvaihto sends youth for volunteer work abroad and receives foreign volunteers to Finland. The organisation works to promote intercultural understanding, equality and peace.
- Nordjobb offers seasonal jobs, housing and cultural and free-time program for youth aged 18-30 in the Nordic Countries. You are required to know at least one of the Nordic languages.
- Wikijob website lists work opportunities in Great Britain.
- School Education Gateway in this portal you can find Erasmus+ teacher traineeship placements. Note: before applying, check your eligibility for the Erasmus+ grant from the University of Oulu!
- Summerjobs.com portal allows you to apply for summer jobs in the USA.
- UNDP is one of UN's largest employers. The Nordic office of the UNDP offers six month traineeships for students in higher education.
