  • Webinars and live sessions
  • Student stories on digital platforms
  • Alma mater visits

All ambassadors are welcome to take part in visits to Finnish high schools, where your task is to promote the University of Oulu and guide young individuals in finding their own path.

What is in it for you?

By becoming a UniOulu Ambassador, you’ll:

  • Get to know your peer student ambassadors studying in the English and Finnish-taught degree programmes and make friendships
  • Polish your communication skills
  • Gain insights into the field of higher education communications, marketing, and public affairs
  • Grow your professional network
  • Engage in both compensated and voluntary duties

The UniOulu Ambassador Programme is coordinated by the University of Oulu Communications, Marketing and Public Affairs team. You will meet them regularly as well as UniOulu Ambassador team captains.

What makes a good ambassador?

The UniOulu Ambassador programme welcomes applications from current Bachelor's and Master's students studying in English-taught degree programmes. Whether you're a first-year student or further along in your studies, your unique perspective is valuable.

We are looking for highly motivated, committed, and independent students from different degree programmes, nationalities, and backgrounds to form a well-balanced ambassador team.

What do we expect from you:

Active participation

We expect the student ambassador to actively participate to trainings and duties.

Positive outlook on life

As a student ambassador, you represent your own field, university, and guide young people in finding their own direction. In this role, you need a cheerful attitude and readiness to encounter various people and situations.

Commitment for one academic year at a time

As a student ambassador, you commit to the team for one academic year at a time, but you may take breaks from your duties, such as during work.

Be yourself

Ambassadors participate as their authentic selves, just as they are. It is sufficient that you want to assist young individuals by sharing your own study experiences. Previous experience or expertise in marketing is not required.
