Bringing humanity one step further
During his bachelor’s in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Hadi Mir from Kashmir, in the Himalaya Valley, discovered his passion for AI and machine learning. So, he taught himself coding and decided to dedicate his future to this world-changing technology. Now he studies in the Computer Science and Engineering master’s programme at the University of Oulu, where he can live his passion to its fullest.
AI and machine learning
For him, it is important to learn about AI and machine learning in order to use them in a way that helps people and brings humanity one step further.
“Of course, I don’t want robots to take over the world!” he laughs
"It’s like nuclear energy, you can use it to make electricity or you can use it to destroy a city. It is all about ethics”
In the future, he wants to be an entrepreneur and start his own tech company. He does not yet know what his company will do, but he is confident he will find out in the next years studying in Oulu.
The journey awaits
Hadi is looking forward to coming to Oulu in person soon to meet his classmates and to experience the nature around Oulu. He calls himself an explorer who likes hiking and camping, and travelling the world. “Sure, I will miss the Himalaya, where I grew up, but I know Oulu is a beautiful place with a lot of water. I am also looking forward to seeing Helsinki and Lapland!”
