Applicant's Day brings thousands of young people to Linnanmaa on 6–7 November – Congestion expected in restaurants and hallways

The University of Oulu and Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Oamk) will organise Hakijan päivä event for applicants in Linnanmaa on 6–7 November 2024. In this event, we will help upper secondary level students to find their future place and field of study. On Wednesday, around 2,000 young people and on Thursday over 3,000 are expected to visit the campus, mainly from the north but also from other parts of Finland.

During the event days, congestion is expected, especially along Väylä, where the event's presentation points are located. Visitors will dine at Juvenes restaurants, so campus restaurants may be crowded.

In the event, the University of Oulu will introduce all bachelor's programmes and some of the master's programmes available in the joint applications in spring 2024. The open university will also be presented, as it provides an open pathway as an opportunity to enter university studies.

"At the presentation points, applicants will have the opportunity to ask our staff directly about studies and our students about their experiences. There will also be brief presentations and lectures in lecture halls, and during the day, visitors can explore some of the university’s laboratories and study facilities," says Marketing Designer Elisa Härkönen.
