Arctic Congress Bodø 2024 - Call for Abstracts

FRONT research programme organizes a session on ‘Arctic Resilience: socio-ecological change and adaptive capacity needs’ in the coming Arctic Congress 2024. The congress takes place from 29 May to 3 June 2024 in Bodø, Norway, hosted by Nordland Research Institute and Nord University.

The FRONT session (2.05) focuses on the Arctic resilience and adaptive capacity needs in the context of ongoing global climate change and related processes and impacts. Purpose is to discuss on the Arctic (transdisciplinary) resilience research and needs in various scales and perspectives, covering (but not limited to) socio-ecological, individual, community, organizational/institutional, livelihoods and regional contexts. Session conveners are: Jarkko Saarinen, Elina Lehtomäki, Satu Nätti and Anni-Siiri Länsman.

The Call for Abstracts for the Arctic Congress Bodø 2024 is open at http://www.arcticcongress.com/call-for-abstracts.

The abstract submission deadline is 5th January 2024 at 17.00 CET.

The themes of Arctic Congress Bodø 2024 follow those of Norway’s Arctic Council chairship priorities in partnership with the Norwegian Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Norway’s chairship of the Arctic Council focus on several core issues, including the impacts of climate change, sustainable development, and efforts to enhance the well-being of people living in the region. Looking to the future, Arctic Youth and Arctic Indigenous peoples, cross-cutting priorities of the Norwegian chairship, will also be overarching themes at Arctic Congress Bodø 2024.
