Board approved 2025–2028 agreement with the ministry and request Collegium to confirm new members
The Ministry of Education and Culture and the university agree on key quantitative and qualitative objectives for the university’s operations, which are essential from the perspective of education and science policy, for fixed periods at a time. The agreement defines the university’s national tasks and degree targets for the new agreement period. The university’s strategy-based funding is based on the university’s proposal for development targets in line with the university’s strategy.
The monitoring indicators agreed for the period 2025–2028 are based on the university’s strategic objectives and the Ministry of Education and Culture’s proposal for common monitoring indicators for all universities.
The agreement will be made public after signing.
The board discussed the resignations of the professor member Tiina Kinnunen and University Lecturer Kimmo Kontio, the member representing other teaching and research staff and other staff, as of 1 January 2025. Both cited personal reasons for the resignation. The board asks the University Collegium to confirm the new board members.
According to the election regulations, the person next in line from the administration elections results will replace the resigned member. According to the results of the elections in November 2021, Professor Marko Huttula will replace Tiina Kinnunen and Project Researcher Pauli Väisänen will replace Kimmo Kontio for the remainder of the term from 1 January to 31 December 2025, if they accept the assignment.
The professor member Johanna Uusimaa, who announced her resignation at the previous meeting, was prevented from attending the meeting, so she could not be heard, and her resignation could not be processed.
