The collegium confirmed the fees of the university board

In its meeting on 12 October 2023, the collegium of the University of Oulu has decided on the remuneration to be paid to the members of the university's board of directors.

The rewards from the beginning of 2024 are:

• Chair: monthly fee 2000 euros per month and meeting fee 300 euros per meeting

• Vice-chair: monthly fee 800 per month and meeting fee 300 euros per meeting

• Member: monthly fee 500 per month and meeting fee 300 euros per meeting

Board members' travel expenses are reimbursed in accordance with the university's travel regulations. E-mail meetings are included in the monthly fee and no meeting fee is paid for them. A meeting fee is paid for board seminars, evening schools or other similar events lasting more than two hours. However, only one meeting fee is paid for events that take place during the same day.

The university collegium decided at its meeting on 31 May 2023 to review the fees and update them if necessary. According to the collegium, the remuneration of the board members should reflect the amount and demands of the tasks and responsibilities, and should be in line with the remuneration of benchmark universities.

In the collegium, the matter was prepared by a tripartite working group, whose members were Petri Sahlström, Timo Kokkonen and Lotta Nikunen. The last time the university collegium decided on the remuneration of the board members of the University of Oulu was in December 2011.

The collegium notes that the Student Union of the University of Oulu has chosen new alternate members for members Aku Forsman, Riikka Haataja and Lotta Leinonen to replace alternate members who have graduated. Aku Forsman's personal deputy is Jarno Siivola, Riikka Haataja's personal deputy is Jakov Lubenets and Lotta Leinonen's personal deputy is Pauliina Korvala.
