Cycling school for adult beginners starting in October

The City of Oulu University in cooperation with the University of Oulu and Psoas is organising a bicycle school with English instruction to teach beginners how to cycle. No prior cycling experience is expected or required.

Did you know that Oulu has over 900 km of pedestrian and cycling paths? Or, that one in five trips in Oulu are made by bicycle in the Spring, Summer, and Autumn months, and even in the winter more than 1 in ten trips are made by bike? (Euronews; BBC).

If you (your spouse, or friends) are interested in exploring these cycling paths in the summer (and winter) but don’t know how to cycle yet, then sign up for the City of Oulu 3-day bike school for beginners which takes place on the 3rd, 10th and 17th of October, and will last for one hour each day.

The City of Oulu bike school is for people who are complete beginners, and no prior cycling experience is expected or required. Please bring your own bicycle and helmet, a very limited number of bikes may be available for participants to practise with, but we recommend bringing your own bike, as it will be easier to practise on your own bike.

During the bike school participants will receive guidance and support in learning the basic skills needed to cycle a bike safely and independently. Last time 9/10 participants indicated that they had learned how to cycle after the 3 days of instruction.

Please note that these bicycle schools are intended only for adult participants, and the language of instruction is English.

Please only sign up quickly to secure your place, and only for one group.

Please cancel your participation if you cannot attend as places are limited to 10 participants per group.

Group 1: October 3rd,10th and 17th from 16:00 – 17:00 (A few places are still left)
Group 2: October 3rd,10th and 17th from 17:00 – 18:00 (Full, sign up for the waiting list )
