Eudaimonia spearhead research project 2026 – 2029 call in multidisciplinary thematic area A Resilient and Secure Society. (Deadline for the project applications is February 17, 2025, at 23:59)

Centre for multidisciplinary research Eudaimonia is now calling for new spearhead research projects for the four-year period of 1/2026 – 12/2029. Eudaimonia supports disciplinary research in human sciences, and multidisciplinary research both across human sciences and between human sciences and other fields of science. The new Eudaimonia spearhead research projects should address the global challenges recognized in the strategy of the University of Oulu for the thematic area “A Resilient and Secure Society” including profiling themes Socio-ecological and socio-economic resilience, resilience of communities; Learning and human interaction; Migration, refugees and cultural conflict; Safe and sustainable environments and communities; New digital business models.

The proposed research projects should represent well-focused research of high international quality and are expected to have high scientific and social impact. The results of funded projects should be made public and produced following good scientific practice, i.e. the research must follow the principles of responsible research and sustainable development and should make its results, material and data openly accessible. The principles of equality and non-discrimination must also be taken into account.

The selected spearhead projects will be targeted for strategic support of 1-2 three-year doctoral researcher salary and 1 four-year postdoctoral researcher salary. This funding scheme is not subject to changing uses of the strategic funding. These positions will be filled through open calls according to the procedures approved by the University’s HR services. Successful projects are expected to participate in the various activities of Eudaimonia Institute.
