H2FUTURE New Research Initiatives (NRI) winning projects have been selected
The successful applicants for the H2FUTURE New Research Initiatives (NRI) Programme 2025–2026 at the University of Oulu have been selected. The three outstanding projects selected to receive €50,000 in funding each:
1."Biohydrogen from the Arctic: Exploring Cold Seep Microbial Communities for Clean Energy",

3. "The Price of Decarbonization with Hydrogen: Environmental Impacts and Justice of Hydrogen Economy",
Eva Pongracz, Faculty of Technology, Water Energy and Environment Engineering Research Unit
These projects represent pioneering efforts in clean hydrogen production, sustainable metal processes, and the socio-environmental aspects of the hydrogen economy. H2FUTURE continues to drive innovation towards a sustainable hydrogen transition, leveraging the University of Oulu’s strengths in multidisciplinary research.
