It is time to make a difference at the University - New student representatives are being selected this fall

At the University of Oulu, students are represented by students called hallopeds. Halloped, i.e. the student representative of the administration, is the voice of the students in decision making of the University. It is now time to apply and make a difference. All members of OYY, e.g. all bachelor's and master's students at the University of Oulu, can apply.

Hallopeds attend meetings and express the students' opinions on the matters at hand, and then tell other students what has been decided in the meetings. Hallopeds co-operate especially with other hallopeds, their subject societies and OYY. There are more than two hundred hallopeds at the University of Oulu and they represent everywhere from the management of the university to individual degree programs. Hallopeds are also involved in the decisions of FSHS, restaurants at the campuses and UniOGS.

The call for the hallopeds of the Board of Directors of the University of Oulu starts on September 20th and calls for all the other halloped positions starts on October 18th. New students are being called for all positions!

The applications are made via halloped.fi website, where you login with HAKA. On the halloped.fi website you can find all the positions hallopeds are appointed to. The appointments are made either by OYY's Board or the Student Council on the basis of applications. The two-year term of the selected hallopeds will begin at the beginning of 2022 and OYY will train them to the task. The university pays commissions and gives study credits for some of the positions.
