The University of Oulu Collegium is supplemented by a second vice-chairperson. Juha Ahola, a university lecturer, was elected as the second vice-chairperson. The matter was decided by the University Collegium at its meeting on 21 March 2022. The University Collegium is already chaired by Professor Helka-Liisa Heikkilä and Bachelor of Business Administration Lotta Leinonen, the first vice-chairman.

The University Collegium also appointed a planning team at its meeting to begin preparing the selection procedure for members of the Board of Directors of the university that come from outside university community. The planning team was appointed so that the group has a representative from each group — professors, other staff and students.

The task of the planning team is to prepare alternative proposals for the selection procedure for the external members of the Board. Questions to be clarified include how potential candidates are identified and how candidates are judged. The goal is for the University Collegium to be able to decide on the selection procedure during the spring of 2022.

In addition, the Collegium heard about current matters from Rector Jouko Niinimäki, became acquainted with the key results of the University Autonomy Survey, as told by Professor Maija S. Peltola, and decided on how to communicate with the financial auditors.
