The operators of campus restaurants have been selected

From 1 January 2025, Sodexo Oy and Juvenes Oy will be responsible for the restaurants on the Linnanmaa campus. Juvenes Oy will provide services for the Kontinkangas campus restaurants. Students and staff of the University of Oulu and Oamk will receive discounted meals at the restaurants.

On the Linnanmaa campus, Sodexo will be responsible for the following restaurants, currently named:

  • Restaurant Julinia and Julinia Garden
  • Restaurant Lipasto and Lipasto Grill
  • Café Lipasto

Juvenes will be responsible for the following restaurants on the Linnanmaa campus, currently named:

  • Restaurant Mara
  • Restaurant Foobar
  • Restaurant Voltti
  • Restaurant Kerttu
  • Café H2O Väylä

Restaurant Medisiina and Café Galenos in Kontinkangas campus will also be transferred to Juvenes.

The restaurant operators were selected through a new tender process, as previous tenders led to appeals. In June 2024, the Market Court decided that the price of student meals must be tendered, so in the recently concluded tender, price was chosen as the comparison criterion, and quality was set as the minimum requirement. This means that the provider had to meet the quality criteria defined in the service description of the request for tender before being included in the price comparison.
