PITHIA TNA call for collaboration with researchers, enterprises and public organizations open now
Are you a researcher, small or medium enterprise, large company or public organization? Are you interested to get access to the best European research facilities for observations of the upper atmosphere? You can now get access through the Trans-National Access (TNA) programme which will be organised by PITHIA-NRF (Plasmasphere Ionosphere Thermosphere Integrated Research Environment and Access services: a Network of Research Facilities).
PITHIA is a project funded by the European Commission aiming at building a European distributed network that integrates observing facilities, data processing tools, and prediction models dedicated to the ionosphere, thermosphere, and plasmasphere research. The PITHIA TNA programme gives the possibility for external research teams to perform their own projects working in one of the PITHIA-NRF nodes.
As SGO is one of the nodes in the PITHIA project, it is possible for external users to access some of the unique datasets in SGO. These data sets are the Pulsation magnetometer data, Riometer data, and KAIRA (Kilpisjärvi Atmospheric Imaging Receiver Array) through the TNA programme.
Granted users will get access to training guides, including basic instrumentation, data, and model descriptions. Users can request either physical access (a one-week visit at the node with support on-site) or remote access (one-month remote access with weekly support).
The call is running from the 15th of January 2023 until 15th of June 2023. It is an Open Call and applications will be handled as they arrive to streamline the timelines of the projects. For more information on the proposal requirements and applying please visit the following link:
