Seven fields of science included in the Times Higher Education science ranking list
The University of Oulu ranked highest in the fields of engineering and technology and computer science. Both of these subjects placed in the bracket 176-200 in the international comparison. The ranking for engineering and technology was slightly higher last year, in the bracket 151-175.

The Times Higher Education ranking for science subjects assesses teaching, research and the impact of research – which means references to research publications – in each branch of science. Reputation evaluations provided by members of the science communities are emphasised when ranking the areas of teaching and research. The ranking also assigns a small weight to external funding and internationality in the field of science. The weights assigned to the indicators used in the evaluation vary by sector.
Times Higher Education – World University Rankings published its list of the world’s best universities earlier this year. The University of Oulu ranked 301-350 on that list.
