Significant funding from the Foundation for Economic Education – Grants awarded for a research group and individual researchers

The Foundation for Economic Education awarded over €5 million in grants on 27 November 2024. The University of Oulu Business School received €264,500, including a notable €100,000 grant for a two-year biomarketing project led by Adjunct Professor Eeva-Liisa Oikarinen.

This year, the Foundation for Economic Education distributed research group grants to 10 teams, including one from the University of Oulu Business School. The group, led by Adjunct Professor Eeva-Liisa Oikarinen, focuses on developing tools for biomarketing.

During the 2024 grant cycle, funding was also awarded to 44 thematic special projects aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Finnish businesses. Among these is a doctoral research project by Mahmoud Mohamed, which explores integration of platforms into multiplatform ecosystems in the connected health context.

This is not the first time the University of Oulu Business School has succeeded in securing funding from the foundation. Previously, Professor Satu Nätti received a research group grant for a multidisciplinary project aimed at enhancing the meta-skills of virtual teams.

In addition to the research group grant, the Foundation for Economic Education supported individual researchers at the University of Oulu Business School in various ways. Grants were awarded for doctoral studies, postdoctoral research, conference travel, research visits, and the organisation of seminars and conferences. In total, 19 grants were awarded to the business school.

Congratulations to all grant recipients!
