Student Santtu Mäenpää is the substitute member for Lotta Nikunen in the University Collegium

The Collegium of the University of Oulu met for its second meeting of the year on 30 March 2023. Santtu Mäenpää is a new substitute member of Lotta Nikunen. Student representatives to the University Collegium are elected by the Student Union of the University of Oulu. 

At its meeting on 23 February 2023, the Board of Directors of the University of Oulu decided that the University Regulations will be reviewed. Students and staff can comment on the proposed changes until 4 May 2023 via an electronic form. In addition, the university's Board of Directors will request separate statements from the university collegium, faculty boards and the student union. The Collegium decided to appoint a working group to prepare the Collegium's opinion on the reform of the University Regulations. Members of the working group, Lotta Leinonen, Olli Silvén and Pirkko Viitala, shall prepare a proposal for the Collegium by 25 th April.

The Collegium discussed current university issues with the Board of Directors, mainly the development of education at the University of Oulu.

In addition, Rector Jouko Niinimäki gave an overview of the current issues of the university. The Collegium stressed the importance of the well-being of the university community.

The next college meeting will take place in May 2023.
