The team creator is the team owner in Teams
It is recommended that the team has at least two owners so that the management of the team is not dependent on just one person. For example, graduation, sick leave or a person's termination of employment can put the team in a situation where it does not have an owner. However, the owner is the one who will be informed about the removal of the passive team.
Both the university and Oamk teams now have those that lack ownership or have only one owner.
As an owner or member, you can check to see if your team has at least two owners. Go to the team name and choose More Options … > Team Management.
- If there are no owners, send information about the team to: ict@oulu.fi.
- If the team only has one owner, let she/he know.
- If you are the only owner, name another or more owners for the team. Note that non-organizational members (guest) cannot be added as team owners.
There are also groups in other M365 applications, such as Viva Engage and SharePoint. At least two owners are also recommended for those groups.
