Valerio Izzi appointed Vice President of the International Society for Matrix Biology

In 2023, with the induction of Prof. Nikos Karamanos to the post of President of the International Society for Matrix Biology (ISMB), a vacancy opened for the position of Vice-President. ISMB bylaws state that any member of the society can candidate/be candidate to the position, and that the whole ISMB membership votes to decide the most suitable candidate. Valerio Izzi (from FBMM and FMed) was candidate to the position and, on January 9, declared by majority voting to be the new Vice-President. Valerio will now serve in this position for two years, before becoming the new President of ISMB for two additional years.
