Critical Thinking and Cinema Club will launch its activities on 24.8.2023.

The first movie on the club’s list will be Ex-Machina (Alex Garland, 2014). The movie is about a scientific experiment, during which the limits of humanity, artificial intelligence, self-awareness, and empathy, are tested.

The discussion will be moderated by Lauri Tuovinen, a postdoctoral researcher in the DataAI group, BISG research unit, Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering. Expert in software and data engineering for intelligent systems and in the ethics of artificial intelligence. Responsible teacher for the course “AI Ethics, Privacy and Legislation”.

The purpose of the Cinema Club is to enjoy movies, but also to have enriching discussions and deeper understandings of the themes.
