Welcome to info session for students interested in volunteering at the World Congress of Environmental History on February 2nd at 2-4 PM on Stage (Tellus)

The info session is organized to share information about assisting at the conference in general and about the possibility to receive 5 ETCS by assisting and taking a course ”Transdisciplinary approaches to human-environment interaction research and conference organizing” built around the WCEH congress.

Welcome to the info session for students interested in voluteering as assistants at the World Congress of Environmental history! The session is held on February 2nd at 2-4 PM in Stage (Tellus).

The congress welcomes as assistants all students from the faculties of humanities, biology and ecology, geography, and pedagogy. Congress assisting is possible to carry out as a 5 ECTS course ”Transdisciplinary approaches to human-environment interaction research and conference organizing” that can be included in studies of several disciplines.

The World Congress of Environmental History is held every five years and it is the largest and most international event in the field. On 19.-23.8.2024, the congress will bring around 600 environmental researchers in social sciences and humanities from all over the world to the University of Oulu.

The info session will share more detailed information on both congress assisting in general as well as on the course built around the congress, e.g the content of the course and how to apply to it. Students attending the session are free to ask questions during the small info lectures or stay after it to discuss things related to volunteering at the congress in more detail. Present in the session are also students who have volunteered earlier in other conferences at the University of Oulu as well.

The info session has coffee and buns available.
