We want to change the substrate specificity of rat mitochondrial 2E-enoyl-CoA hydratase (ECH) such that this enzyme can be used for the sustainable synthesis of building blocks for making valuable biopharmaceuticals and fine chemicals
ECH is a hexamer. Each active site has two catalytic glutamates and an oxyanion hole
