Project description

The GOOCZ consortium includes Aalborg University (AAU), University of Oulu (UOULU), Universität Siegen (SIEG), Halmstad University (HH), and Mykolas Romeris University (MRU). GOOCZ is lead by the Aalborg University. Together these institutions collaborate to strengthen the academic sector's engagement with industry and develop sustainable educational practices.

Getting Out of the Comfort Zone wants to offer university teachers and researchers a chance to work outside academia and see how things work in companies and industries that invest in sustainability. The project also contributes to the development of new ways of teaching, combining theory with practical experience. Teachers who participate in the program gain knowledge about sustainability and digitalization, which they can use to strengthen students' opportunities in the labor market.

The project objectives are to

  1. Enhance academics' capacity and skills to meet industry demands and societal shifts,
  2. Revise higher education curricula to address current and future societal and industrial challenges, preparing graduates for green and digital transitions, and
  3. Develop sustainable transnational staff programs that reflect the evolving societal and industry landscape, fostering academia-industry synergy.
