Project description
SUSA spearheads a comprehensive educational transformation within the European healthcare sector; uniting a consortium of 12 HEIs, five SMEs, a hospital, a research center, and two networking organizations. This pan-European endeavor will push forward with 20 bachelor’s and 26 master’s programs with 16 self-standing modules for lifelong learning. Agile to its core, SUSA is strategically designed to produce 6558 graduates and 660 working professionals proficient in digital health data competencies.
SUSA education model is based on 20 commonly agreed learning objectives that focus on recognized digital skills gaps of the European healthcare ecosystem. These objectives will be systematically embedded in the curriculum of single degree programs of HEIs in 9 European countries (NL, FI, IE, HR, GR, SK, PL, ES, TR). The model is based on a collaborative pedagogical approach, through shared learning experiences, that will be co-designed and co-delivered by the consortium members. The healthcare ecosystem will serve as the cornerstone for facilitating learning, ensuring a cohesive and integrated educational journey in the pursuit of digital excellence within healthcare.
SUSA stands apart through its sheer innovative multidisciplinary curriculum, addressing present and future digital competency needs that are essential for health data sharing. The European healthcare digital single market brings forth the dire need that health data sharing holds for Europe's healthcare ecosystem. SUSA is not only supporting this movement, it is at the forefront of this transformative wave. SUSA’s educational model will empower healthcare delivery with data-driven insights, actively supporting the objectives of the European Green Deal. We are committed to fostering a healthier European society, leveraging the power of education to cultivate new generations to come.
Four objectives:
- Co-design and co-deliver a bespoke advanced digital skills education program integrated into 20 bachelor’s and 26 master’s degree programs and 16 related self-standing modules
- Implement an innovative initiative to attract qualified teaching staff and students for SUSA education offering
- Upgrade digital infrastructures to support interoperability across HEIs for delivery of SUSA education program
- Ensure sustainability of SUSA education program through sustainable partnership and integration with existing or emerging initiatives
The achievement of these objectives will be measured based on specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time-bound Key-Performance-Indicators (smart KPIs).
Three additional long-term policy objectives:
- SUSA will create an education program with shared learning objectives for health data to foster sustainable healthcare
- SUSA graduates will fill the gap of healthcare professionals who can drive data-driven digitalization in Europe
- SUSA will create and share new learning experiences and content where principles of safety and inclusivity for all citizens will be incorporated at the design stage, and will proactively support diversity in interdisciplinary expert and leadership positions
