Research group description
In Ecological change and adaptation research group, we cover a wide spectrum of topics within ecology and evolutionary ecology, our research mainly focusing on changes in biodiversity and abundance, dynamics of trophic interactions, adaptation to urban environments, ontogenetic and physiological mechanisms of larval growth in Lepidoptera, social information use among animals, quantitative genetics of life-history and behavioural traits, as well as ecology underlying the epidemiology of zoonotic diseases. Our research methodology is diverse, including the experimental method, correlative long-term observational data analysis, and mathematical modelling. Our primary empirical study systems are Lepidoptera and birds. We aim to contribute to the scientific understanding of the ecological and evolutionary processes, especially in the context of ongoing anthropogenic environmental change.
