Annu Rusanen works as a postdoctoral researcher in the Research Unit of Sustainable Chemistry. Her research focuses on the utilization of biomass-based by-products, especially for the production of so-called high value-added chemicals. Also various catalytic solutions are part of her research area; for the fractionation of biomass and for the production of biomass-based chemicals (such as HMF and furfural).
