Postdoctoral researcher
I am a postdoctoral researchers researcher in the Space Climate research group. My research is focused on the effect of energetic particle precipitation on Earth’s atmosphere. Energetic particles originate mostly from the near-Earth space and their precipitation into the atmosphere Is driven by the plasma flow from the Sun, the solar wind. Thus, the energetic particle precipitation is a part of the solar effect on Earth’s atmosphere and climate. My research aims to elaborate the direct effects of particle precipitation on chemical and dynamical state of the upper atmosphere and how these effects propagate in the atmosphere all the way to the surface level. My research is concentrated on the Arctic atmosphere where the effect of particle precipitation is particularly significant.
