University Lecturer Aulikki Herneoja is Vice Research Unit Leader at the Oulu School of Architecture at the Faculty of Technology. She is an architect having background on practical design work, i.a. designing and managing large informative exhibitions. Her research interest is in methodological approach of combining practical design knowledge to academic knowledge of architecture, especially on the real-world context conducted intervention-based studies within interdisciplinary research group. Technology is involved in multiple layers, both as means of research and in applied solutions for practice. She has been leading major research projects since 2011, most recent concerning spatial solution of activity-based offices for knowledge workers from user-centric approach.
