Axumawit Tesfamariam is a doctoral researcher actively involved in projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of urban water management systems. She is engaged in several projects, including research focused on estimating external water intrusion in sewage networks to guide renovation efforts, promoting energy-efficient practices through energy recovery, and optimizing wastewater treatment processes.
