Dr. Feixiong Chen is currently appointed as an Academy Research Fellow in the Faculty of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine( University of Oulu) with his interdisciplinary focus on the development of Point Of Care(POC) assays. He has authored more than 18 scientific papers (with citation time > 412) and one Korea Patent (1022485030000), with broad experience and different skillsets (e.g., electrochemical sensing, fluorescence immunology techniques, magnetophoresis, microfluidic chips and Magnetic nanoparticles). In 2017, he obtained a PhD in Life Engineering from the Universite de Lyon in France. After his PhD in France, he worked as a Postdoc Researcher, Marie Curie Fellow, Senior Scientist and Research Fellow in the countries of South Korea, Ireland, United Kingdom and Finland across both the academic and industry sectors. Currently, he has successfully received research funding from the Chungnam National University Research Grant(South Korea), Higher Education Authority (Ireland), Marie Curie Action (EU) and Academy of Finland (Finland), with up to around €1,200,000. It enables him to co-supervise four PhD students as well as to lead an R&D group of 10 staff members in the LumiraDx industry.
