I am an international doctoral researcher of social work from Bosnia-Herzegovina at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Jyväskylä, Finland.
In my doctoral study, I used an action research approach to challenges experienced by social work graduates in the transition from higher education to work in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
At the University of Oulu, I work as a project assistant and a researcher on the SUOJATIE project Transnational child protection - knowledge and service paths (Rajat ylittävä lastensuojelu – tietoa ja palvelupolkuja). The project is funded by the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. My sub-study Navigating family matters relationally in a cross-border context: Ukrainian families with children in Finland under the Temporary protection addresses a pressing issue of family protection in cross-border situation due to the war and forced displacement. As such, it is placed at the intersection of migration governance, social welfare, and child welfare.
