By using Synchrotron X-ray spectroscopy and structural methods, my current research interest is focused on understanding the relationships between microscopic and macroscopic properties of advanced materials, with the goal to explain their functions. This I use to uncover mechanisms of work of different bulk and nano-scale materials such as transition metal oxides and multiferroics, batteries - energy materials, electrostrictors, electro-photocatalysts, and different variants of steel. I further work on the development of new experimental and data analysis methods that rely on the use of combined techniques in-situ/operando.
