Heidi Spets

I work at the University of Oulu as a doctoral researcher in English language. I am a part of the COACT (Complexity of (inter)action and multimodal participation) research group.

My main interest is real-time, co-present interaction in immersive virtual environments. I am also interested in embodied action, especially gesture. My methodological background is in conversation analysis, and I use mainly video materials in my research.

At the moment, I examine interactional challenges in social VR. My focus is challenges that occur during a word explanation game and how they affect interaction between the players.
