Hellen Silva Santos
PhD
postdoctoral Researcher
Materials Chemistry
I have a broad background and experience on solid-state chemistry and chemical analysis, having a master’s degree in analytical chemistry (2014), and a PhD in inorganic materials chemistry in 2017. I have strong industrial background, with solid knowledge in different fields of chemistry, acquired along nearly ten years of working experience in the mining, petrochemical, pesticides and food industry. I started working in the ‘Magnesia-based materials and systems’ team of the ‘Fibre and Particle Engineering Research Unit’ in Sep 2020, and my current research focus is on the valorisation and utilization of industrial waste-streams in high-value and high-volume applications via CCU/S routes
