I did my PhD at the University of Oulu in research group of Veli-Pekka Jaakola. My PhD project focused on interactions of human adenosine A2a receptor with calmodulin and alpha-actinin. I defended my thesis on 2016, but already before that I joined to professor Inari Kursula's research group. Currently I work as an Academy of Finland Postdoctoral Researcher in Prof. Kursula's group studying actin nucleotide exchange machinery of malaria parasite (Plasmodium falciparum) and its potential role as a drug development target.
Research interests
- Mechanisms of actin nucleotide exchange
- Actin-regulating proteins
- Drug target evaluation
