Professor
Electronics
Circuits and Systems Research Unit
Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering
Ilkka Nissinen received D.Sc.(Tech.) degree in electrical engineering from University of Oulu, Finland, in 2011. Ilkka Nissinen started as an Associate professor (tenure track) in Circuits and Systems Research Unit on November 2018 and he received the permanent professorship on March 1, 2023.
His research interests include the design of time interval measurement architectures for the integrated sensors arrays (SPAD arrays) that can be used in a time-gated Raman spectroscopy, time domain diffuse optics and a pulsed time-of-flight laser range finding.
Research interests
- Time resolving CMOS single-photon avalanche line sensors
- CMOS Raman line sensor
- Integrated time-to-digital converter
