MSc
Doctoral researcher

I work as a doctoral researcher in the Space Climate Research Group. My main focus lies in studying the behavior of the Sun's global magnetic field over medium-term (> 6 months) and long-term (> 5 years) time scales. The Sun's magnetic field and its generator, the solar dynamo, are captivating subjects. They play a crucial role in various phenomena collectively referred to as solar activity, which have noticeable effects that extend as far as the winter weather in Finland. In my doctoral research, I strive to quantify the observed asymmetries in solar activity and utilize them for solar activity predictions. To achieve this, I combine the analysis of data describing solar activity and magnetic fields with numerical modeling of the Sun's magnetic field.
