I have graduated with Master of Science (Department of Computer Science and Engineering) and Doctor of Medical Sciences from University of Oulu (MD, PhD). Currently I am working as a full-time specializing doctor in clinical neurophysiology. Additionally, I work as a part-time postdoctoral researcher in University of Oulu and as a Medical Advisor in Younite-Ai. In the future I am planning to combine my expertise from both fields even more efficiently.
My research focus on different brain diseases concentrating especially on spontaneous brain activity and physiology of epilepsy, narcolepsy, dementia, sleep and sleep apnea. The basic research focuses on understanding the baseline brain activity in order to further develop more sensitive and specific disease markers and treatments.
For my research, we utilize the fast functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) called Magnetic Resonance Encephalography (MREG) combined with MRI-compatible electroencephalography (EEG), near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and continuous non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP) in novel multimodal scanning environment.
