PhD researcher and architect Jenni Hakovirta is focusing on defining Saami architecture as part of Indigenous architecture . Her research examines Saami communities´ and society´s relationships with prevalent Western architectural practices and history of built environment. She specifically examines agency and power relations as part of architecture and its processes. Hakovirta aims to widen the perspective on Arctic built environment and architecture.
